Fabrizio Romano reveals rumoured Spurs candidate accepts job at European giant

Bayern Munich are set to sack Julian Nagelsmann and replace him with Thomas Tuchel, Fabrizio Romano has revealed on Twitter this evening.

ESPN journalist James Olley had claimed on Wednesday that Tuchel was considered to be a real ‘possibility’ for the Tottenham Hotspur job if Antonio Conte is relieved of his duties.

Conte’s future in north London has been the subject of intense speculation after the scathing comments he unleashed towards his players after they threw away a 3-1 lead at Southampton to draw 3-3 and many within the Spurs squad now expect him to leave the club during the current international break (Football.London).

Tuchel has been out of work since last September after being sacked by Chelsea’s new ownership and was replaced with former Brighton boss Graham Potter, who has experienced a tough start to life at Stamford Bridge.

If Julian Nagelsmann is not placed on any sort of gardening leave by Bayern, Tottenham should seriously consider the opportunity to bring the 35-year-old coach to the club.

Nagelsmann worked wonders during his time at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig despite his young age and would be an ideal candidate to be a ‘project manager’ at Tottenham. Daniel Levy’s next appointment cannot be another quick-win in the ilk of Mourinho or Conte – someone like Nagelsmann on a five-year deal would be the right step, but only if he is given the time and patience to overhaul the squad.
