Fabrizio Romano reveals rumoured Tottenham target prefers Arsenal move

In what comes as a potential blow to Tottenham, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that joining Arsenal would be Ivan Toney’s preferred option in January.

Spurs Web has brought to you several updates over the last two months which have indicated that the Lilywhites are locked in a three-way battle for Toney’s signature, with London rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea (Daily Express).

Last week, The Sun reported that Chelsea are convinced the Lilywhites are poised to make a January move for the Brentford star, who is thought to be valued at £100m.

The outlet added that while Spurs have played down the idea of pursuing the England international, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are not convinced by that, and expect to battle Ange Postecoglou’s men for the player.

Ivan Toney prefers Arsenal over Spurs and Chelsea

However, if Romano’s latest update is to be believed, it is the Gunners who have the upper hand on both of their London rivals, with Toney preferring a switch to the Emirates.

The journalist told Kick (as relayed by CaughtOffside) about the Bees striker: “He’s also on the list of Chelsea, but Chelsea are not 100% convinced about Toney. Also, from what I am hearing, the player’s idea is more on Arsenal.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Arsenal are certainly much ahead of Chelsea and Tottenham at the moment and are looking set to mount another title challenge this season. So, it is not surprising that Toney is leaning towards a switch to Mikel Arteta’s men.
