Fabrizio Romano reveals Serie A club’s stance on selling Spurs-linked striker

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that AS Roma have no intention of selling Tammy Abraham this summer amidst reports linking the striker with a potential move to Tottenham.

Abraham has been in stellar form since his move to the Stadio Olimpico last summer, having found the back of the net on 23 occasions in all competitions so far this season (Transfermakrt).

The Athletic reported this week that super-agent Jorge Mendes has approached Abraham over potentially replacing Harry Kane at Spurs.

The report explained that Manchester United were keen on snapping up Kane in the summer and that Mendes was working on his own accord to secure the former Chelsea striker as the England captain’s replacement.

However, Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Roma will not be letting Abraham leave just 12 months after snapping up the striker.

The journalist added that the 24-year-old is loving life under Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital.

If Spurs are to lose Kane, we would likely have to replace him with two goalscorers. Abraham certainly has the all-around game to be one of those two replacements.

However, I do not expect Kane to be sold this summer even if we do not get into the Champions League. I suspect the club would keep the striker around for one more season to keep Conte happy.
