Fabrizio Romano reveals Spurs have ‘no chance’ of landing rumoured target

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has ruled out Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of signing Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo this summer.

Romano had previously taken to social media to reveal that Roma do not wish to sell the 21-year-old after Corriere della Sera established Tottenham as the favourites to land The Italian international last month.

However, there has been further speculation regarding Spurs’ pursuit of the former Inter Milan player over the past week.

It was first reported that the Lilywhites had a made had made a €50milliom offer for the midfielder which was turned down by Serie A outfit.

Sky Italia journalist, Angelo Mangiante reported that Spurs had sent representatives to Italy to discuss a deal with Roma, although he also indicated that the Italian’s were not interested in selling him.

Responding to a Spurs fan who asked about the North Londoners chances of landing the Roma player, Romano has poured cold water on the transfer link.

Based on the various reports from Italy so far, it looks like there is interest from us in Zaniolo but Roma are determined to hold on to him. If it is true that we were willing to offer €50million for him, then that is a positive sign as it means that we do have the funds to potentially pull off a big transfer before the end of the window.
