Fabrizio Romano reveals Spurs have reached ‘full agreement’ with new signing – Contract signing soon

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have reached a full agreement to sign England goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

With Gollini’s loan spell at Tottenham coming to an end this summer, the North Londoners are expected to be on the lookout for a backup to Hugo Lloris this summer.

It was previously suggested that Spurs could look to extend the Italian’s loan spell at the club (TMW) while other sources claimed that the Lilywhites were confident of winning the race for Sam Johnstone (The Sun).

However, multiple publications have reported over the last few days (90 min and Daily Mail) that Spurs are in talks over a deal for Foster, whose contract with Southampton runs out this summer.

Romano has taken to social media to reveal that Antonio Conte’s men have now agreed a deal with the experienced goalkeeper.

The journalist added that the England shot-stopper is expected to put pen to paper on a new contract with Spurs, with Gollini now set to return to Atalanta.

Johnstone would likely have been Spurs’ preferred option, given his age but I suspect the Baggies star likely wants to join a club like West Ham, where he would have a better chance of being the number one.

Foster would be a decent number two and the fact that he is homegrown and available on a free transfer, makes the deal a no-brainer for Spurs if Johnstone was not gettable.
