Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Girona have made it clear to clubs who are interested in rumoured Tottenham target Artem Dovbyk that his release clause would have to be met to sign him this summer.
Girona have had an outstanding season and are set to finish in third place in La Liga behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.
One of the reasons for their impressive showing is Dovbyk, who has been outstanding since his move from Ukrainian side SC Dnipro-1 last season.
The centre-forward was an unknown quantity to most fans until a year ago but he has scored 20 goals and provided seven assists in 34 league matches in his first season in Spain (Transfermarkt).

Spurs-linked Artem Dovbyk has a £34m release clause
It was reported by Mundo Deportivo earlier this year that Tottenham, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid had all set their sights on the 26-year-old.
Romano has now revealed on social media that Girona have no intention of negotiating the Ukrainian international’s sale and interested clubs would have to meet the player’s €40m (£34m) release clause.

Not too many reports over the last couple of months have named Dovbyk as one of the players on Tottenham’s striker wishlist. It would seem that Spurs’ interest in the Girona star has cooled and they are now instead looking at the likes of Santiago Gimenez, Ivan Toney and Omar Marmoush.
