Fabrizio Romano has revealed that an obligation to buy clause could be included in a Villarreal loan deal for Tottenham duo Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, if certain conditions are met.
Villarreal have been heavily liked with a move for Lo Celso all summer on the back of the Argentine’s successful loan spell at the club during the second half of last season.
Marca claimed last week that the La Liga club had made a loan offer to sign the midfielder with an obligation to make it permanent for €15m (£12.5m).
However, Sky Sports reported in their live transfer blog (at 9:53) earlier today that Villarreal were only looking to sign Lo Celso on loan.
The report added that Unai Emery’s side were also keen on signing Ndombele on loan for the season if a deal for the Frenchman was possible.
Romano has now taken to social media to confirm Villarreal’s interest in the Spurs pair. The journalist claimed that the Yellow Submarine are discussing a loan deal with an option to buy for both Lo Celso and Ndombele.
However, he explained that option could become a mandatory clause for both midfielders if some targets are achieved during the upcoming campaign.

I do not see how such a deal would be possible for Ndombele. Even if the Frenchman agrees to cut his wages by half, Villarreal will still not be in a position to pay his salary. So, I suspect the Ndombele deal will just involve a loan while the Lo Celso one could come with an obligation to buy.
