Fabrizio Romano reveals the fee Spurs want for Giovani Lo Celso

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell Giovani Lo Celso for around €20m (£17m) this summer.

Lo Celso enjoyed an outstanding second half of the season since joining Villarreal on loan in January, with previous reports indicating that Spurs are ready to cash in on the Argentine this summer (Estadio Deportivo).

El Periodico Mediterraneo claimed a few days ago that Unai Emery is keen to bring the Spurs midfielder to Villarreal permanently.

If Romano’s latest update is to be believed, the Yellow Submarine can sign Lo Celso for £17m this summer.

He added that despite interest from Villarreal, nothing is agreed as of yet between Tottenham and the La Liga club.

Meanwhile, Esport Base Media journalist Xavi Jorquera Marquez has claimed that Emery’s men are set to land Lo Celso for a fee of around €15m-€18m (£12.7m-£15.3m) including bonuses.

The journalist stated that Spurs initially demanded €24m (£20.4m) for the 26-year-old but Villarreal have managed to negotiate down the price.

Marquez adds that the Spanish club are closing in on Lo Celso’s signing and an official announcement could be forthcoming soon.

Spurs Web Opinion

£15m is a big bargain for Lo Celso and one would expect Spurs to potentially insist on several performance-related bonuses. If it is true that Tottenham are willing to sell the Argentine for such a modest price, that indicates that the club are in a hurry to clear out the deadwood this summer.
