Fabrizio Romano reveals the latest bid which Spurs rejected from Man City for Kane

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to claim that Tottenham Hotspur have rejected Manchester City’s latest offer for Harry Kane.

Romano claimed that the Premier League champions tabled a €150million (£128million) offer to try to persuade Daniel Levy to part with the 28-year-old, however, the bid was rejected by the Spurs chairman.

Kane is now reportedly come to accept Tottenham’s decision to reject all approaches and keep him at the club, such was his involvement in Sunday’s Premier League victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

City boss Pep Guardiola revealed earlier this month that he was interested in taking the England captain to the Etihad Stadium during the current transfer window, if Spurs were prepared to come to the negotiating table (BBC).

The Manchester outfit were keen to add Kane to their squad after losing the services of Sergio Aguero, who joined Barcelona following the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.

If Spurs have indeed rejected a British record bid for Kane, it is a huge signal of intent that the club still harbours the ambition of breaking back into the top four, rather than looking to pocket the transfer fee.

Replacing Kane would not be an easy process and would take up to three new signings to cover the number of goals and assists he produced last season.
