Fabrizio Romano reveals three positions Spurs could look to invest in this January

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could look to make three new additions in January following the arrival of Antonio Conte.

In the week since Conte’s appointment, Spurs have been linked with a whole host of players from Serie A.

Romano has now said on the latest video on his YouTube channel (starting at 7:39) that he expects Tottenham to pursue a striker who can play as a backup to Harry Kane.

The journalist named Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as one of the players on Spurs’ radar but he added that the Serbian international is also being pursued by many other clubs.

Romano suggested that the North Londoners could also go after a new midfielder in January.

He revealed that the club held talks over deals for Juventus’ Weston McKennie and Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez over the summer and they could possibly resume their search for a midfielder when the transfer window reopens.

Finally, he also stated that Tottenham could pursue a central defender who is adept at playing in a back three.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs rarely tend to make any moves during January. However, following Conte’s arrival, I would expect us to make at least two new additions and potentially move a couple of players on.

I believe the final decision on which position to prioritise will likely be made by Conte after he takes a closer look at his squad over the next few weeks and months.
