Fabrizio Romano reveals ‘three top clubs’ are interested in Spurs-linked midfielder

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that three top clubs have expressed an interest in signing rumoured Tottenham target Youri Tielemans this summer.

Antonio Conte is thought to be keen on signing two midfielders this summer (Telegraph) but there have been contradictory reports regarding Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Tielemans.

GiveMeSport claimed last month that Spurs plan to make a move for Tielemans in the summer should they qualify for the Champions League but according to The Telegraph, some at the North London club have reservations about the Belgian international.

The Sun reported last week that Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal are ‘closing in’ on a £40m deal for the Foxes star.

The report suggested that there is growing confidence at the Emirates that Tielemens would be an Arsenal player next season, particularly if they manage to qualify for the Champions League, which they can secure with victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Leicester are resigned to losing the 25-year-old and Mikel Arteta’s side have had their eyes on the midfielder since January.

However, he added that the Gunners are not the only club who are interested in Tielemens ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is anybody’s guess at this point who Tottenham’s top central midfield target is this summer. While Ruben Neves would arguably be a better fit for Conte’s 3-4-3 than Tielemens, the Belgian will likely prove a lot less expensive than the Portuguese international, for whom there is likely to be a bidding war.
