Fabrizio Romano reveals Tottenham’s ‘priority’ position in the summer transfer window

Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham Hotspur are prioritising signing a winger when the transfer market reopens in the summer.

It has been widely reported by various sources over the last month that Ange Postecoglou is keen to bring in another top-quality wide player to the squad.

This includes a recent update by The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, who claimed that the Tottenham head coach had identified Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Wolves’ Pedro Neto as the club’s two top targets.

The journalist asserted that Manchester City are also on Eze’s trail and with the England international likely to prefer a move to Pep Guardiola’s side, Spurs are expected to prioritise a move for Neto.

Besides those two players, it has also been reported over recent weeks that Tottenham could reignite their interest in Antonio Nusa after their failed attempt to secure the Club Brugge star in January (GiveMeSport).

Meanwhile, other young, up-and-coming wide players such as Copenhagen’s Roony Bardghji (HITC) and Hull City’s Jaden Philogene (TEAMtalk) are also reported to be on Spurs’ radar.

Fabrizio Romano says Spurs want a winger

When asked about the rumours about the North London club’s pursuit of a winger, Romano has now simply told JD Football: “That kind of player is the priority for Tottenham.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given Tottenham’s failed move for Nusa in January, we know for a fact that the club are after another pacy winger who is good in one-on-one situations.

With Timo Werner impressing since arriving at the club, I wonder if Postecoglou would prefer signing a wide player who is more adept at playing on the right.
