Fabrizio Romano reveals what Anntonio Conte is seeking to remain at Spurs

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Antonio Conte wants at least three of four top-class signings this summer in order to remain at Tottenham next season.

Several reports from France suggested a couple of weeks ago that Conte was interested in replacing Mauricio Pochettino at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain (Le Parisien).

Although the Spurs head coach dismissed the PSG rumours as fake news (Goal), he refused to commit his future to the North London club, insisting that he will have to meet with Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici at the end of the season (Football.London).

The Independent reported this week that there has been a ‘shift’ regarding Conte’s future, with the Italian now likelier to remain at Tottenham than he was previously.

Romano has now revealed that the 52-year-old wants clarity on Tottenham’s project and is seeking assurances that Harry Kane will remain at the club next season.

The journalist added that Conte will only make a final decision after meeting with the Spurs hierarchy at the end of the campaign.

Romano wrote in his column for CaughtOffSide: “Conte wants at least three or four high-level signings in the summer and then definitive clarity on the Spurs project, including keeping Harry Kane at the club.

“This is his priority to remain Tottenham manager, but the decision will be made in a meeting at the end of the current season.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think there is any doubt that Kane will remain at Spurs, now that City have snapped up Haaland. I also do not foresee any scenario where the club do not cede to Conte’s demands and allow him to leave, irrespective of whether we qualify for the Champions League or not.
