Fabrizio Romano reveals what Bale has told Madrid team-mates over Spurs move

Gareth Bale has told his Real Madrid team mates that he is leaving the club and is on his way to Tottenham Hotspur, according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano claims that an agreement between Tottenham and Madrid is edging closer to being completed.

Bale has previously come close to leaving the Spanish giants when in July 2019, Madrid pulled the plug on a deal for to join Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu Suning.

He struggled for regular first-team football last season in Span having played 20 times in all competitions, scoring three goals (transfermarkt).

The Welshman moved from Spurs to Real for a then-world record £85m in 2013 and has gone on to win four Champions League titles (BBC).

Sky Sports claimed that discussions have reached such a stage that lawyers were drawing up contractual agreements last night with all parties confident that a deal will be reached.

Bale is still in Madrid and is waiting for the go-ahead to travel to London in his private jet (Sky Sports).
