Fabrizio Romano believes Tottenham target Samuel Iling-Junior is going to swap Juventus for a Premier League side in January.
It has been reported by various reliable sources over the past few weeks that Spurs are expected to enter the market for a versatile attacker in January following the injuries to Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).
The player who has been most heavily linked with a move to Tottenham is Iling-Junior, with multiple Italian outlets reporting over the last month that the 20-year-old is keen to leave Turin in search of regular game time, with Spurs at the front of the queue of his signature (TMW).
Last week, Football Insider even went as far as to say that the England Under-21 international is Ange Postecoglou’s ‘dream signing’ and that Spurs are ready to accelerate their efforts to bring him to North London.
Romano on Samuel Iling-Junior’s intentions
Romano has now confirmed that several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, have expressed an interest in signing the Chelsea academy graduate.
The journalist suggested that returning to the English top flight is considered a ‘priority’ for Iling-Junior and his camp.
Romano told Kick (as relayed by Football365): “The interest of English clubs in general is confirmed. It’s a concrete possibility for Iling-Junior to go back to the Premier League.
“He would love to go back to England, this is a priority for the January transfer window, so Tottenham could be a possibility. I think he is going to leave Juventus.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think agreeing a fee with Juventus would be an issue for Tottenham. The only potential stumbling block to the transfer would be if Iling-Junior feels he is more likely to get regular game time elsewhere than at Spurs.
