Fabrizio Romano reveals when Tottenham want new centre-back signed by

Fabrizio Romano has said that Tottenham Hotspur want to bring a centre-back through the door by next week.

Ange Postecoglou admitted a few days ago that he would ideally want a centre-back signed early in the January window following Cristian Romero’s injury blow but the Tottenham head coach acknowledged that it might not be straight-forward to do so (EuroSport).

On Friday, The Telegraph’s Matt Law revealed that Nice are now hopeful of holding on to Jean-Clair Todibo despite Tottenham’s advances for the Frenchman.

The journalist explained that following the development, Spurs are now expected to swiftly turn their attention to Dragusin, with the Lilywhites alleged to be leading the likes of Roma, AC Milan and Atalanta in the race for the Romanian.

Spurs want Dragusin done by next week

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the North London club are looking to secure a new defender within a week after Ange Postecoglou gave the green light to push ahead with a move for Dragusin.

The journalist later added that Spurs have agreed personal terms with Dragusin and are locked in talks with Genoa about a fee.

Dragusin feels like the easiest deal to get done quickly, and Spurs may then focus on a more high-profile signing in the summer. With the squad being so short on depth at centre-back right now, getting a quality option like Dragusin through quickly would be a great piece of business.
