Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur will not be reconsidering either Paulo Fonseca or Gennaro Gattuso moving forward.
Fonseca looked set to be announced as the next Tottenham manager until a couple of days go but the North London club decided to call off the move for the Portuguese coach and approach Gattuso instead.
The news of Gattuso’s impending arrival at Spurs caused backlash from some fans on social media. According to reports, the fan reaction was the main reason that Tottenham decided to abandon their pursuit of the former Napoli boss.
Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the club are not likely to reconsider Fonseca as a candidate.
The journalist also added that Tottenham are not in a position to reignite their interest in Mauricio Pochettino, with Paris Saint-Germain determined to keep the Argentine at the club.
Tottenham are not planning to re-consider Paulo Fonseca or Gennaro Gattuso as candidates in the next hours – both deals 100% off, same for Pochettino who’s considered “untouchable” by Paris Saint-Germain since May. ⚪️ #THFC
