Fabrizio Romano says 48-year-old manager will not take Spurs job right away

Fabrizio Romano has said on his YouTube channel that Tottenham’s rumoured managerial target, Oliver Glasner, will not leave Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season.

Romano says in the video that Tottenham are yet to communicate their final decision regarding their managerial situation with Antonio Conte, with the Italian still waiting to find out his fate.

The journalist says that Spurs could put Ryan Mason in charge on a temporary basis if they are not able to find an immediate replacement for Antonio Conte.

He adds that two of Tottenham’s managerial targets, Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique, are keen to return to the dugout but both managers are expected to wait to see what offers arrive during the summer.

Romano then asserts that Glasner has ruled out the prospect of leaving Deutsche Bank Park before the end of the current season but the Austrian is expected to explore the offers that are made in the summer.

However, the journalist makes clear that Tottenham have, by no means, settled on the Austrian as their top target and that the Lilywhites have ‘other priorities’ for the moment.

I do not think any of the top managers would want to take over before the summer as they would want a pre-season to get their ideas across to the squad.

So, Tottenham will likely have no choice but to give Mason the reins until the end of the season if they part ways with Conte.
