Fabrizio Romano says La Liga attacker is on Tottenham’s radar

Fabrizio Romano has named Pedro Neto and Raphinha as two wingers that Tottenham Hotspur are eying next summer, revealing that the Barcelona winger has been a long-term target for the North London club.

There have been a whole host of reports over the last month talking up Tottenham’s interest in Neto, with several outlets suggesting that the Wolves star is near the top of Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist (Independent).

However, another wide player who was also previously mooted as a target for the Lilywhites is Raphinha, who has not been a regular in Barca’s starting eleven this season.

Some outlets have claimed over recent weeks that Spurs have already contacted the former Leeds man’s agent to discuss a potential summer move (Relovo).

Just a couple of days ago, Sport even stated that Tottenham had been interested in the Brazilian ‘throughout his career’ but they suggested that the North London club should be wary of potential competition from Saudi Arabia for the player this summer.

Fabrizio Romano says Spurs like Neto and Raphinha

Romano has now also remarked that Raphinha is a name that is ‘appreciated’ by the Spurs hierarchy along with Neto.

The journalist said on JD Football’s YouTube channel: “Look, a player they appreciate for a long time is Raphinha from Barcelona. We know the financial situation at Barcelona is not easy, so he could be one of the names.

“They will look at that kind of player. Another player they appreciate is Pedro Neto, but he has this issue with his injuries, so I’m not sure Liverpool, Tottenham or the other clubs following the player will be prepared to play big money for Pedro Neto this summer.

“That kind of player is the priority for Tottenham, I see them going for that kind of winger, a quality player to help with goals and assists.”

Raphinha is the sort of player we need to give competition to Kulusevski on the right. While Neto is undoubtedly a more talented player than the Brazilian and a better age profile for Spurs, his injury record and Wolves rumoured asking price might put off the North London club.
