Fabrizio Romano says Spurs have already made a key decision for summer transfer window

Fabrizio Romano has said that Tottenham Hotspur want to complete their business early during the summer transfer window.

Historically, Daniel Levy has often preferred to wait until the final part of the transfer window in order to get the best deals possible.

Spurs have also often decided to first offload their deadwood and make space in the squad before making moves for their top targets.

However, that has not been the case over the last two transfer windows, with the Lilywhites signing the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Manor Solomon, James Maddison and Micky van de Ven quite early last summer.

They did the same in January, with both Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin coming through the door quite early in the month.

Tottenham want early deals in the summer

Romano has now revealed on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel that Ange Postecoglou’s men will look to do the same when the transfer window reopens in June.

He stated that the club have decided on the positions they want to strengthen and have some names in mind, and the Lilywhites will look to secure those targets early.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Tottenham have to decide on Werner’s permanent option in June while they would also have an opportunity to sign one of Gallagher or Gibbs-Whtie in the same month as Chelsea and Forest have to raise funds by June 30 to avoid sanctions.

At least two new signings are likely to be completely quite early and one would expect the club to soon begin work on signing a midfielder and a winger.
