Fabrizio Romano says Spurs have identified two Clement Lenglet alternatives

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Clement Lenglet is just one of three left centre-backs on Tottenham’s wishlist this summer.

The journalist took to social media to state that Tottenham and Barcelona are expected to meet over the coming days to discuss a permanent deal for Lenglet.

However, the journalist explained that the Frenchman is not the only player Spurs are monitoring, with the Lilywhites said to have identified two other alternatives for the same role.

Tottenham are looking at Lenglet alternatives

This update from Romano comes a few days after Sport.es reported that all parties are convinced that Lenglet will make a permanent move to Tottenham this summer.

The publication claimed that the North London club are expected to launch an offer of around €5m (£4.27m) for the centre-back and that the Catalan giants could agree to a sale since they are keen on getting the 27-year-old off their wage bill.

Meanwhile, 90 min had claimed a little over a week ago that Tottenham are eyeing Harry Maguire, Aymeric Laporte and Max Kilman as options for the left centre-back role.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lenglet for around £5m seems like a no-brainer as long as the Frenchman is being signed as a backup rather than first choice.

I would be extremely surprised if he is the only left-sided centre-back we sign this summer, particularly if Eric Dier ends up leaving the club alongside Sanchez and Tanganga.
