Fabrizio Romano has revealed that rumoured Spurs managerial target, Luis Enrique, is keen on a swift return to management and is eyeing a move to the Premier League.
Enrique left his role as Spain head coach following La Roja’s disappointing show in last year’s World Cup and his name has been mooted as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte at Spurs.
The Athletic revealed last month that Fabio Paratici, who had initially been trusted with coming up with a short list of managers to replace Antonio Conte, might favour hiring Enrique, with the Italian alleged to be a big fan of the Spanish coach.
This was also backed up by The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, who claimed that the former Barcelona boss is Paratici’s number one priority.
However, with the Spurs managing director of football taking a temporary leave of absence from his role at Tottenham after his ban was extended globally, it remains to be seen whether he will have an input in the club’s decision.
Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Enrique ‘dreams’ of managing in the Premier League and is looking for a ‘long-term project’.

It is pretty clear that Paratici is the man who is driving Tottenham’s interest in Enrique.
So, whether or not the North London club speak to the Spaniard regarding the vacancy could depend on the verdict of the Italian’s appeal, which will be heard on April 19.
