Fabrizio Romano suggests 34-year-old might stay at Spurs despite transfer rumours

Fabrizio Romano has reported that there are currently no indications that Ivan Perisic will leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The journalist took to Twitter to report that a decision has not yet been made on the future of the 34-year-old wide man, despite what other reports are saying.

Fanatik reported this week that Tottenham were looking to terminate Perisic’s contract, which would then allow the former Inter Milan winger to join another club on a free transfer.

It has also been reported that Fenerbahce and Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in the Tottenham man (Ben Jacobs – Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel).

The Athletic simply stated that Perisic is expected to be part of Spurs’ summer clearout after he was signed by Antonio Conte, who has since departed the club.

Most recently, Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that Perisic would have his Spurs contract torn up soon, which would allow him to move back to Croatia.

However, Fabrizio Romano refutes all of those claims and says there are no indications that Perisic will leave Tottenham at this stage of the window.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I actually think that Perisic would be a decent option to have as an impact sub to play left-wing, rather than a starter at left-back.

However, the best solution for everyone involved may be to end his contract. Spurs would save on wages and he would get one last big move.
