‘Fake news’ – Spurs-linked striker dismisses reports suggesting he is on the move

Lille striker Victor Osimhen has hit out at the media reports suggesting that he has agreed to join Napoli.

Osimhen has had an impessive season for Lille, and is reportedly on the radar of a number of clubs around Europe including Tottenham (Sky Sports).

The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona ((Le10Sport), Manchester United (Le 10 via Inside Football), Arsenal, and Manchester City (Le Quotidien du Foot), are all said to be interested in the Nigerian international’s services.

Reports have indicated that Tottenham have already made a £62million offer for Osimhen (Radio Kiss Kiss via Area Napoli) but his agent has questioned why the 21-year-old would entertain a move to Spurs with Harry Kane still at the club (The Cable).

Reports over the past few days have suggested that the striker has agreed to a deal to move to Napoli and was set to sign a five-year contract with the Serie A giants (Brila.net).

However, Osimhen has now rejected those reports in the strongest possible terms.

The striker told Omasports: “The news relating to my agreement with Napoli is false. I am surprised by these journalists who claim to be professionals.

“Ignore this fake news on my account, when there is an agreement for my transfer you will know it directly from me.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given what Osimhen’s agent has said, it is clear that we are not going to be able to sign the Nigerian even if his asking price was slashed. As always, the problem we have is that no striker who is ambitious and good enough to be first-choice is likely going to want to come to Spurs and compete with Kane.
