Father of Celtic midfielder claims son has signed new deal amid rumoured Spurs link

Reported Spurs and Arsenal target, Daniel Kelly has been pictured signing a pre-professional contract with Celtic by his father.

The North London rivals and Manchester United had all shown interest in the 15-year-old midfielder who is at the Scottish giants, according to the Glasgow Evening Times.

Totenham were among a whole list of other potential suitors for Kelly, with interest coming from England and across Europe.

Despite the attentiom from some of the European football’s biggest clubs, it seems the box-to-box midfielder is set to stay at Celtic with a deal keeping him at the club until 2024.

In a Twitter post, Kelly’s father said: “Absolutely delighted for Daniel signing a pre-professional contract with Celtic keeping him at the club until 2024.”

Although Kelly is only 15-years-old, he has already featured for Celtic’s under-18 team where he impressed.

It is possible we could see Kelly make an appearance for the first-team in just a matter of years as the midfielder could follow in the steps of Celtic’s Karamoko Dembele.

Although it is not surprising the youngster has decided to stay in his home town, the interest in him from far and wide would suggest he is certainly a name to keep an eye out for. Youngsters do get their chance at Celtic, so it could prove a decision which will pay off in the long run.
