‘Feel sorry for all the Spurs fans who have travelled out there’ – Reaction after Spurs lose at Vitesse

Tottenham Hotspur now have ground to make up in Group G of the Europa Conference League after suffering a disappointing defeat against Vitesse Arnhem.

Nuno Espirito Santo made the call of leaving the eleven players who started against Newcastle United back in London and the decision came back to haunt him with the North Londoners on the receiving end of a 1-0 defeat.

It was a frustrating performance with the visitors struggling to pose a threat or a spark of creativity in the final third, aside from a Bryan Gil effort which cannoned back off the crossbar early in the second half.

The last time the Portuguese decided to do something similar was in the qualifying round first leg at Pacos de Ferreira and also found himself that evening having tasted defeat.

Some Spurs fans decided to take to social media after the final whistle blew to share their reaction to what they watched unfold in front of them in Holland, with their team now third in the group.

Rennes beat NS Mura 2-1 away from home to take their tally to seven points, with Spurs having registered just four points after three fixtures.
