Dele Alli, Lucas Moura, Sergio Reguilon, Japhet Tanganga, and Davinson Sanchez took to social media to express their delight at being able to welcome the Spurs fans back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a 1-0 win over Machester City.
Nuno Espirito Santo decided to name the same starting eleven he fielded in the pre-season friendly against Arsenal last week for his first competitive game in charge of the club.
The team looked very well drilled both defensively and offensively as City were unable to break down the home side and looked susceptible every time the Lilywhites launched a counter-attack.
Son Heung-min lifted the roof off the stadium when he broke the deadlock in the 55th minute and the home crowd continued to cheer every single tackle until the final whistle.
Several Tottenham stars took to social media after the win to thank the Spurs faithful for the atmosphere they created in their first game back.

Spurs Web Opinion
Things could have gone quite badly wrong for Tottenham yesterday had we been beaten comfortably by City in Nuno’s first game in charge, particularly considering that the Portuguese coach was not a particularly popular choice among Spurs fans.
Nuno certainly needed the win to bring a feel-good factor around the place and to get the players to believe in his methods. Hopefully, we can build on this momentum and make a fast start to the campaign.
