Tottenham Hotspur are now officially waving goodbye to Fernando Llorente after two seasons at the club, as the striker signs for Napoli in Italy (Sun).
Llorente left Tottenham on a free back in June, but there was still a chance he could sign a new deal with the North London club, with reports stating that a contract offer was on the table (Daily Mail).
However, the former World Cup winner obviously decided to go another way and he leaves Spurs with his head held high.
Few players will forever be remembered in the history of a football club, but Fernando Llorente as Spurs is certainly one of these rare cases after his Champions League exploits last season.
Fans will be playing videos of Llorente’s goal against Man City and his flick-on against Ajax for years to come in North London.
The Spaniard has now taken the chance to thank the club and the fans for his time at Spurs.
After two wonderful seasons, today I say goodbye to Tottenham. It was a pleasure to wear this shirt and wherever I go there will be always a space in my heart for Tottenham and for their fans. I wish you all the best for this season and for the future! Thanks. #COYS? pic.twitter.com/M2ox8SYpUy
