Feyenoord want to beat Tottenham to signing Leeds United defender

One Eredivisie club have now stepped up their pursuit of a Leeds United defender as they look to beat Tottenham and other big clubs across Europe to his signature in the summer.

Pascal Struijk has been a reliable performer for Leeds over the last several seasons, and even though the centre-back has had a few injury issues this campaign, he has continued to be an integral part of Daniel Farke’s backline when fit.

Ahead of the January window, it was reported by a few outlets that Tottenham are eyeing a move for Pascal Struijk, but a move from the North London club was not forthcoming as they chose to sign Kevin Danso from Lens instead.

A new report has now claimed that Spurs are continuing to keep an eye on the Dutchman ahead of the summer, but they are expected to face a lot of competition for the defender’s services.

Feyenoord keen on beating Tottenham to Pascal Struijk

A new report in Football Transfers has now claimed that Feyenoord are keen on beating Tottenham and other clubs across Europe to the services of Struijk this summer.

The report reveals that the Dutch side have identified the Leeds man as their top choice to replace David Hancko, who is expected to seal a move away from De Kuip.

Amidst the interest of Tottenham Hotspur and others, Feyenoord have allegedly made contact with Leeds over a summer deal already in an effort to move ahead of the competition for the Ajax academy graduate.

How much is Struijk expected to cost?

The outlet claims that Leeds made it clear to interested clubs ahead of the January window that the defender would cost €30m (£20.8m), a price that no one was willing to pay at the time.

It is not revealed if the club’s asking price for Stuijk is going to change in the summer, particularly with the Yorkshire side looking set for promotion.

The outlet points out that such a price should be affordable for Feyenoord, given the profit they are expected to make from Hancko’s sale.
