FIFA name team of the World Cup with one glaring omission

FIFA have announced their official team of the tournament and their has been one glaring omission, that of which we will get on to.

Our own World Cup winning captain Hugo Lloris has been chosen in goal. In defence two Englishmen are in the side. Spurs defender Kieran Trippier has been selected after a terrific tournament on the right hand-side as England reached the semi-finals. Manchester United and England veteran Ashley Young also makes it as does Liverpool’s Croatian Star Dejan Lovren and Real Madrid’s France Star Raphael Varane.

The midfield has a touch of Spurs in it too with FIFA putting Croatia captain Luka Modric alongside Spurs former Brazilian Star Paulinho.

In a 4-2-3-1 formation, the trio behind the striker is made up of Chelsea’s Belgium captain Eden Hazard, Atletico Madrid’s French forward Antoine Griezmann and then there is the odd one. A man who spent most of his time getting up close and personal with the pitches in Russia, Brazil and Paris St Germain star Neymar.

And then up top the lone striker, banging in the goals. A revelation for his country this tournament. Yes you’ve guessed it, it is of course….. Kylian MBappe. Yes you read correctly. Harry Kane, the World Cup top scorer has been left out of the official team of the tournament. MBappe deserves a slot as does Hazard and Griezmann but Neymar over Kane? The Brazilian scored twice but was more known for his theatrics.

Harry netted six times, people will argue about the penalties, the deflected shot but he still got six goals but they all count. He got awarded the Golden Boot but FIFA still left him out. What are they on? Perhaps sponsors had their say?
