Find out where Harry Kane finished in the Ballon d’Or vote

Harry Kane finished in 23rd place for the Ballon D’or award 2021 among the 30 players who were nominated for the award.

Kane is currently enduring a difficult season at club level, having netted just once in the Premier League so far.

However, that does not diminish the impressive calendar year that the 28-year-old has enjoyed for club and country.

Not only did the Tottenham man end up as the top-scorer and the top assister in the Premier League last season but he also carried that form into the European Championships, netting four goals as England finished runners up.

He has continued to bang in the goals for Three Lions over the past few months even though goals have eluded him at club level.

It thus came as no surprise when Kane made the 30-man shortlist along with other prestigious names but the Spurs star did not come close to winning it, finishing in 23rd place.

The winner of Ballon d’Or was Lionel Messi, who took home the award for a record seventh time. He just beat out Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, who came in second, while Chelse’s Jorginho was third on the list.

Spurs Web Opinion

Finishing in 23rd place is perhaps slightly unfair on Kane given some of the names who have finished above him in the vote. However, it is what I expected as these votes are often influenced by recency bias (unless you are Messi) and about the trophies that your club wins.
