Five players who need more minutes under Pochettino next season

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to strengthen their squad this summer ahead of the new season after reaching the Champions League final last time out.

However, I believe that Pochettino already has some players within his ranks that deserve more minutes next season.

Kyle Walker-Peters – Definitely top of the list, Walker-Peters talent to game-time ratio is well below where it should be. It seems as if the right-back does all the right stuff when he comes into the side, but has to wait months between opportunities. Especially with Tripps and Aurier underperforming, Pochettino needs to put more faith in this young man.

Juan Foyth – With Alderweireld and Vertonghen set to leave the club at the end of next season as it stands, Spurs need to prepare for the future. Juan Foyth looks like a great prospect, but the 21-year-old could do with some more consistent game time at the back. The only issue is to work out whether he will be a right-back or a central defender.

Lucas Moura – While Moura played a fair bit last season, I would argue that he didn’t receive the number of starts that his form often deserved. With his pace and direct running, I feel as if Pochettino likes to take advantage of bringing him off the bench late on in games. However, I would hand him a few more starts, with Sonny on one wing and Moura on the other.

Troy Parrott – I want to see this lad given some sporadic minutes at the end of matches next season. He looks a real talent and is already outgrowing the youth system at Tottenham. Judging on talent over age, I think Parrott is ready to make the step up.

Paulo Gazzaniga – At the moment, the man who looks to be Hugo Lloris’ successor, but Gazzaniga was limited to just a few starts last season. You would expect him to be the cup goalkeeper throughout the next campaign, but I would like to see him play the odd Premier League game too.
