Five Spurs stars called up to historic England squad

The FA announced earlier this week that Wayne Rooney would be playing one final game for England against the USA in a charity friendly.

The match will act as a thank you from the staff, players, fans and country for Rooney’s superb international performances over a distinguished career.

Due to this historic one-time match, I’m sure many England players would have been dying for the call up to be part of the squad with Wayne for one last time.

An impressive five Tottenham players were called up by Gareth Southgate, continuing the club’s fine representation on the England international level.

Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Kieran Trippier, and captain Harry Kane have all been named in the squad.

Dier makes the cut despite being out injured for the past week, although he is now back in training.

Danny Rose misses out through injury.

Despite the FA claiming Rooney will not wear the armband and will only feature as a cameo, The Telegraph report Harry Kane insists Wayne will in fact captain the side.
