Five talking points from the Tottenham line up

Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal this evening, with the winner earning qualification to the Carabao Cup semi finals.

Emery will be looking to get off to the perfect start at Arsenal by winning his first available trophy, while Tottenham will be looking for revenge from the last NLD.

Here are five talking points from the Spurs line up:

Kane on the bench-

Harry Kane only makes the bench this evening, on a night when Spurs could desperately need goals to keep their silverware hunt alive. Kane was said to be struggling with illness, but perhaps Pochettino was always planning to rest his key man. At least he is available as a sub if Spurs need him.

Rose is captain-

This is Danny’s first run out as captain, but he hasn’t had many. Being one of the longest serving players at the club, it only seems right to give him another chance with the armband, especially when he is in this kind of form.

Foyth returns-

Good news as Foyth returns to the bench after suffering from an injury in recent weeks. Tottenham are desperately short of centre backs at the moment, so this will be a welcomed return.

Davies at centre back-

Due to this shortage at the back, Ben Davies has been forced to cover at centre back once again. He did a decent job against Burnley, but Arsenal will surely prove to be a far tougher task for the left back.

Front four-

Without Kane, Tottenham will be playing an interchanging front four of Eriksen, Alli, Son, and Moura, not for the first time this season. On the rare other occasions these lot have started together, they have caused plenty of problems for the opposition defence.
