Fixture is moved from Tottenham’s new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur have been forced to move an Under-23 fixture away from the club’s brand new stadium.

The fixture against Derby County on Monday, April 29th which is the final U23 match of the campaign was originally scheduled to take place at the 62,062 capacity seater venue but has now been moved to Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium.

Tottenham’s progression to the semi-final of the Champions League has meant that the stadium is required to be kept for the home leg which takes place 24 hours later. Opponents Ajax will train on the pitch of the club’s new home roughly around the same time as the U23’s kick off against the Rams.

No doubt it will be a disappointment for some of the academy players to miss the opportunity to return to N17 for a fixture for the first time, but unfortunately for them, the Champions League takes priority.

For those who want to cheer on the U23’s, kick off is at 7pm and tickets can be purchased on the night.
