‘Following closely’ – Spurs one of four clubs tracking 18-year-old striker

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Besiktas striker, Semih Kılıçsoy, but they are not alone. According to Gökmen Özcan, Aston Villa, Ajax, and Borussia Dortmund are all also following the situation closely when it comes to the 18-year-old.

Semih Kiliçsoy has advanced through the Besiktas academy to become a regular in their first team already, but his time at the Turkish club could be coming to an end as new opportunities open themselves up to him.

After impressive attacking returns for the Besiktas youth side last year, where Kiliçsoy bagged 42 goals in 64 games for the Under-19s (Transfermarkt), he was given his chance in the senior squad, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Kiliçsoy has six goals and one assist in 18 appearances across all competitions to his name this season (Transfermarkt), including game time in the Europa Conference League. Clearly, the youngster is proving to be a difficult secret to hide for Besiktas now.

Spurs chasing Turkish wonderkid

It is no wonder then, that top clubs from across Europe are paying attention to Kiliçsoy now, and Tottenham are among the player’s admirers as they continue to look at building a strong side not just for the present, but with the future in mind, too.

According to Turkish journalist, Gökmen Özcan, Spurs are one of four clubs tracking Kiliçsoy as it stands, though it is not known to what extent this interest stretches and whether any kind of approach for the 18-year-old is imminent.

Özcan tweeted: “Beşiktaş’s young talent Semih Kiliçsoy; Tottenham, Ajax, Dortmund and Aston Villa are following closely.”

All four of these clubs, but especially Ajax and Dortmund, are well known for harvesting top talent from across the world and turning them into fully-fledged stars, so it bodes well that Kiliçsoy could go on to become a real player to watch.
