Football director admits it would be ‘interesting’ to work with Spurs boss Conte

Italian football director Gianluca Petrachi has expressed a desire to work with Antonio Conte in the future.

Conte has worked with many different directors of football over his almost two-decade-long coaching career. However, his path has not crossed with Petrachi, who had a long and distinguished career as a player in Serie A before working as director of football at AS Roma and Torino.

The 53-year-old is currently out of work but he has now admitted that he would be ‘interested’ in linking up with Conte at Juventus.

Reports in the Italian press have claimed over recent months that the Tottenham head coach is Juve’s number one target to replace Massimiliano Allegri next summer (Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness).

However, Football London reported just a few days ago that the Italian is happy at the North Lonon club, who remain confident that he will put pen to paper on a new contract.

When asked about the possibility of linking up with the 53-year-old at the Allianz Stadium, Petrachi has now told TuttoJuve24: “Antonio and I have two very strong characters, so why not? It would be interesting to see us work together.

“Apart from everything, I’ve always made my way alone. I’ve never asked anyone for help and I’m proud of having worked on my own, both when I was a football and now a director.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Spurs fans should be concerned about the prospect of Conte returning to Juve. I fully expect the 53-year-old to commit his future with the club if the Tottenham hierarchy back his vision, which they have certainly been prepared to do until now.
