Forlan flattered with Tottenham link

Atletico Madrid’s Uruguay striker Diego Forlan said he would consider a good offer from Spurs this summer.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the former Manchester United forward for the last couple of seasons but a move never materialised.

‘You never know in football,’ said former Manchester United flop Forlan, when asked if he would consider a move back to the Premier League.

‘If there was a nice offer, for the team and for me, then you have to see. You have to see if it is good enough.’

Also referring to Redknapp’s scouting trip, which saw him robbed while walking in the Spanish capital, the striker continued: ‘There was no offer. There was a lot of talking but not a proper offer.

‘Yes, Harry Redknapp came to watch me – they said that he got robbed. It was a funny story.’

He added: ‘You are always flattered by every interest of every team – and also about Tottenham – but in the end there was nothing firm.’
