Former Arsenal midfielder names Spurs man as his funniest international team-mate

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed on social media that Joe Hart is the funniest player he has played with for England.

Hart’s arrival at Tottenham raised a few eyebrows in the summer considering Hugo Lloris had been fine form since his return from injury and Paulo Gazzaniga had proved an able deputy when called upon.

The former England number one has done little to erase people’s doubts in the few opportunities that have come his way having made the odd error.

However, it is clear to see that the 33-year-old has had a big influence in the changing room as he always seems to be one of the loudest in the behind-the-scenes clips released by Spurs TV.

A recent report by The Athletic even revealed that the former Manchester City shot-stopper is one of the leaders in the changing room and quoted one dressing room source as saying: “If we are successful this year, a lot of that will be down to Bale and Hart.”

Wilshere, who has been part of many England squads with Hart, seems to agree that the goalkeeper is good for team morale.

A lot of ‘social media pundits’ who have no idea of the dressing room dynamics required for teams to succeed at the elite level, scoffed at Hart’s signing. However, the reality is that Jose Mourinho knows better than most the type of characters required in the changing room to build the right atmosphere for success. If he deemed it necessary to bring someone like Hart in, we as fans should trust in his judgement.
