Former Arsenal star critcises Tottenham’s new stadium move

We are just one day away from the day what every Tottenham Hotspur fan has been dreaming about for two years. The Lilywhites will host Crystal Palace at the ‘new’ White Hart Lane on Wednesday leaving everyone excited.

Despite all the excitement, Ex-Arsenal player, Paul Merson believes that Tottenham should not have moved to their new stadium.

He believes that his former rivals should have waited until next season to move into their ‘state of the art’ stadium and finished all of their remaining games at Wembley Stadium.

Paul Merson said on Saturday afternoon on Gillette Soccer Saturday live on Sky Sports News (March 31, 2019): “Me, I probably wouldn’t have gone in the stadium yet.

“I would have probably waited till next season. I don’t know too many teams that go into a new stadium and hit the ground running.”

Is Paul Merson correct? Knowing how long it took for West Ham to get settled at their new stadium, there is a possibility.

Tottenham have acquired only one point out of a possible 15 leaving them in danger of missing out on a top-four finish by the end of the season, giving themselves no time for the players to ‘get used to’ the new stadium knowing they need to hit the ground running against an in-form Crystal Palace side.
