Former Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant mocks Spurs in tweet to Jermaine Jenas

Former Arsenal midfielder Jermaine Pennant has taken to Twitter to attempt to wind up Jermaine Jenas after the Gunners won the FA Cup.

After Spurs finished sixth in the Premier League table, they also qualified for the Europa League, but the outcome of the FA Cup final would determine at which stage they entered the competition.

Arsenal’s 2-1 victory against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday means that they have condemned their North London rivals to three qualifying rounds in order to reach the Europa League group stages, with their first qualifying match due to take place on September 17 – only five days after the 2020/21 campaign has begun.

Meanwhile, the cup success will see Mikel Arteta’s side head straight into the group stage.

Pennant sent a tweet to former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas to poke fun at the fact that Jose Mourinho’s side have once again failed to add to their trophy cabinet this season despite having finished above their rivals in the Premier League table.
