Former BVB midfielder “optimistic” Germans can progress after Spurs’ performance against Arsenal

Tottenham shared the spoils with the North London rivals Arsenal on Saturday in what was the Lillywhites’ first draw of the season. The draw meant that Spurs remain 4 points ahead of their North London neighbors.

However, things could have been completely different if Aubameyang had converted the late penalty as Arsenal would have consigned Tottenham to their third consecutive defeat and would have found themselves just a point behind Spurs.

Pochettino’s men can now turn their attention to the Champions League where they go into the second leg against Dortmund with a 3-0 lead.

Former Dortmund midfielder Sunday Oliseh has said that he is optimistic that the Germans can progress to the last eight of the tournament on the back of Tottenham’s performance against their North London rivals.

The former Nigerian international said that Arsenal were unlucky not to win the game as Spurs “struggled”.
