Former Chelsea star predicts why Spurs have edge over Arsenal in top four race

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Tottenham will finish in the Premier League top four ahead of Arsenal as they have more attacking firepower than the Gunners.

Both sides have put up 57 points after 32 games this term, though Spurs currently hold a slender lead in fourth-place in the table with a superior goal difference.

Mikel Arteta’s side ramped up their pursuit after ending a run of three straight defeats with a 4-2 win over rivals Chelsea on Wednesday.

But despite Arsenal’s significant win, former Blues striker Hasselbaink is still not convinced they have the ability to fend off Spurs into next season’s Champions League.

The current Burton Albion manager cited the attacking prowess of Harry Kane under the guidance of Antonio Conte as a factor that could hand Spurs an advantage over their North London counterparts.

Hasselbaink said on Sky Sports Main Event (20/04/22 – 22:05): “Before the match, I was more with Spurs because of their firepower and because Arsenal were having difficulty scoring.

“I’m still with Spurs. The North London derby will be a big, big match but I just think Spurs have Kane and Conte, and know how to win games.”

It is close as expected, but Spurs still hold a slender advantage due to the goal difference they built up over the last few weeks. Obviously, Arsenal winning at Chelsea was less than ideal, but that wouldn’t have been too problematic had Spurs beaten Brighton last weekend.
