Former Italy international claims Spurs-linked striker is worth over £84m

Former Italy international Emmanuele Giaccherini has claimed that Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic is worth more than €100m (£84.1m).

Vlahovic hit the limelight last season with a prolific campaign in front of goal and far from being a one-season wonder, the Serbian looks set to hit even greater heights this time around.

The centre-forward has already notched up 12 goals in 14 appearances in all competitions for the Viola so far and is showing no signs of slowing down just yet.

Conte is alleged to have asked Tottenham to snap up the 21-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.

It has been reported that Spurs would be prepared to put €70m (£59.1m) on the table for the centre-forward while Juventus are also thought to be hot on Vlahovic’s trail ahead of January.

It recently emerged that Borussia Dortmund would be prepared to make a player plus cash offer for the Fiorentina man.

When asked how much Vlahovic was worth in the current market, Giaccherini simply told DAZN (as relayed by CalcioMercato): “More than one hundred million.”

The only reason Vlahvoic is not worth £100m is that his contract runs out in the summer of 2023. If the 21-year-old had a long-term deal with Fiorentina, they would be well within their rights to demand £100m and I suspect a few clubs might even be ready to pay it.

What Vlahovic has demonstrated over the last year and a half is not just that he is a fantastic goalscorer but he also that he is excellent at holding up the ball, linking play and running at the opposition. He seems to be cross between Kane and Lukaku, and I have no doubt that he is destined for the very top.
