Former Lilywhite labels one Spurs summer signing as ‘absolutely shocking’

Jamie O’Hara was extremely critical of Yves Bissouma’s performance in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Brentford.

With Rodrigo Bentancur out injured, Bissouma started alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle of the park as Antonio Conte opted to go with his tried and tested 3-4-3 formation.

Spurs were also without the injured Richarlison and Lucas Moura while Cristian Romero had not joined up with the squad yet following Argentina’s World Cup win.

It was a familiar tale for Antonio Conte’s men, who put in a lacklustre display in the first half and conceded the first goal yet again.

Brentford’s second goal in the 54th minute sparked the Lilywhites back into action as they fought back to level the game, courtesy of goals from Harry Kane and Hojbejrg.

Several Spurs stars delivered below-par displays but O’Hara took to social media to single out Bissouma for criticism, blasting the Mali international for his poor first touches.

Here’s what the former Spurs midfielder tweeted:

While Bissouma did not have his best game yesterday, I do not think it is fair to single him out for criticism. It is also important not to overreact to the performance as it is bound to take the players a couple of matches to get their rhythm back after the restart.
