Former Liverpool star reveals where he thinks Spurs will finish in the PL

Former Liverpool star Jose Enrique has said that he expects Tottenham to finish in fourth place once again this season.

Manchester City and Liverpool have set very high standards over the last five years and unsurprisingly, they have once again been widely backed to fight it out for the title.

However, ahead of the start of the season, most pundits picked Tottenham as their favourites to finish as the best of the rest behind Pep Guardiola’s and Jurgen Klopp’s side (BBC Sport).

Tottenham have certainly made a solid start to Antonio Conte’s first full season in charge, picking up 11 points from the first five games.

Spurs’ North London rivals, Arsenal, who Conte’s men edged out to finish fourth last season, have had a perfect start to the campaign with fuve wins from five.

However, Enrique believes that Mikel Arteta’s men will once again fail in their quest to qualify for the Champions League.

The former Reds left-back said that he expects the top four teams to take up the same order as last season, with Chelsea pipping Spurs to third place.

Enrique told BoyleSports Football: “Man City will win the title, Liverpool will get second and Chelsea and Spurs will make top four over Arsenal.

“City will be champions, second I’ll go for Liverpool but it will be tight with Chelsea. And Tottenham have Antonio Conte, so I’ll have to go with them for fourth.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is still too early in the season to make definitive assessments based on what we have seen from each side so far.

The table will only take shape in a couple of months and it will only be clear by February which teams have a realistic shot of the title and a top-four finish.

I think another top-four finish, a domestic trophy and progressing to the quarterfinal of the Champions League, will be a fantastic season for us.
