Tottenham fans will love hearing what Owen Hargreaves has said about Spurs’ Europa League hopes on the back of their progressional to the quarterfinal of the competition.
Spurs needed to bring their A-game to turn around the 1-0 deficit from the first leg against AZ Alkmaar, and that is exactly what the Premier League side did. The Lilywhites were in complete control of the game and emerging deserved 3-1 winners in the second leg.
The result has now set up a heavyweight clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Spurs in the Europa League quarterfinal next month, with the Lilywhites set to play the second leg away from home this time.
If Tottenham manage to overcome the Bundesliga side, they will face the winner of the clash between Lazio and Bodo/Glint in the semifinal for a place in the showpiece final in Bilbao in May.

Owen Hargreaves backs Tottenham to win Europa League
Hargreaves believes that the win over Alkmaar was ‘massive’ for Ange Postecoglou’s men, praising the way the North London side defended against the Dutch outfit.
The former Man Utd man insisted that on the back of this morale-boosting win, Tottenham have the tools to go all the way and lift the trophy in San Mames.
Speaking after their 3-2 win over AZ on aggregate, the pundit told TNT Sports: “That’s massive for Tottenham. They defended a bit better, a bit shaky towards the end. They took their chances when they needed to and if they defend well, they can win this competition.”
The win over Alkmaar has breathed new life into Spurs season
Elimination from the Europa League would have left Spurs with nothing but pride to play for over the next few months and would have had a terrible effect on squad morale.
Now that they have managed to seal progression to the final eight, the mood around Hotspur Way will change completely as the players will know that they have a chance to do something special and write their names into the history books over the coming months.
