Former midfielder believes 16-year-old could become even better than Dele Alli

Former Birmingham City midfielder Paul Tait believes that highly-rated youngster Jude Bellingham is likely to leave the club at the end of the season and has compared him to Spurs midfielder Dele Alli.

The 16-year-old has forced his way into Pep Clotet’s side this season and his performances have reportedly caught the eyes of several Premier League big hitters, with Liverpool said to be leading the race for his signature (90 min).

The skilful midfielder, who rose through the ranks at St.Andrews, is reportedly valued at £50 million by Birmingham City.

Tait believes the teenager will move to bigger things in the summer and replicate Dele Alli’s success in the top flight.

Alli has been one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League since moving to Spurs from MK Dons back in 2015.

Speaking about Bellingham, Tait told the Sun: “Lots of clubs want Jude. I personally think he will go in the summer — but I hope whoever buys him will loan him back.

“He could be as good as (the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder) Dele Alli. In fact, I think he will go even further. He works harder and has a nasty streak in him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Looking at how successful midfield recruits from the lower leagues like Dele and Maddison have been in the Premier League, more and more clubs have been looking at Championship and League One starlets over the last few years. However, the prices of some of these players have skyrocketed over recent seasons and I’m not sure if there is still too much value in this particular market.
