Spurs don’t want a full takeover

Daniel Levy and the ENIC Group have been running Spurs since 2000, and the time for change may well be on the horizon. But, according to Wyness, a full change of ownership is not on the cards.

Spurs are thought to be valued at £3.75bn, and Wyness told Football Insider: “I think it is a realistic valuation, given the stadium. Daniel Levy has been known over the years as one of the best negotiators, always pushing for the highest valuations – whether that’s sponsorships or player sales.

“He’s a good operator and £3.75billion is not far away. I can see how that can happen. I’ve also read today that Newcastle are valued at £1 billion, when it seems like yesterday they were bought from Mike Ashley for £300 million.”

But, Tottenham may not be looking for a full buyout. Instead, Wyness suggests this: “It’s interesting to watch. What they’re really after is a minority investor, not a full takeover for the full amount. They want someone to take around 10-15%.”

Where does Amanda Stavely stand?

The Times have suggested the Spurs owners are in talks to sell a stake in the club, but Amanda Stavely herself has not been offering much in the way of concrete information on the matter (The Athletic).

I think an investor taking on a minority stake in the club would be great news, as it would offer a cash injection, and bring a fresh perspective to the running of the club, too, while maintaining a sense of stability that you wouldn’t get with a full takeover.
