Former PL player urges Spurs star to make a transfer to Everton this summer

Former Everton striker Victor Anichebe has urged Richarlison to return to Goodison Park this summer.

When Tottenham paid £60m to snap up Richarlison from Everton last summer, the move was seen by many as a statement of massive ambition by Spurs, with the Brazilian expected to add even more goals to an already potential frontline at North London.

However, things have not gone according to plan for the 25-year-old in his first season in N17 as it took him until the clash at Anfield two weeks ago to net his first Premier League goal for the Lilywhites.

There have already been some suggestions over the last few weeks that Richarlison might leave Spurs after just one season, with the forward thought to be on the radars of both Barcelona (Inter Live) and Inter Milan (Fichajes) ahead of the summer transfer window.

After Everton picked up a 5-1 win over Brighton on Monday, thus taking a big step towards safety, Richarlison took to Instagram to congratulate his former club.

Anichebe replied to the Tottenham man with a comment that reads: “Next season if they stay up come back! Pienaar did it.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite suggestions to the contrary over the last few weeks, I do not think Tottenham would consider cashing on Richarlison this summer.

I remain confident that the 25-year-old will turn his Spurs career around over the next few years.
